Oh Christmas, my favourite holiday of the year. Except this year, Christmas just didn't go as planned. The present I had ordered my little brother got lost in the mail and didn't make it in time. My stomach was bothering my so badly I couldn't even enjoy the wonderful food my Grandfather made every year. Between tossing and turning all night before, running back and forth between multiple family gatherings, and my terrible stomach ache, I just couldn't wait to get home and fall asleep. I went home and hopped in the shower, asking my boyfriend to make the bed so I could curl up and doze off even faster. When I was finished and in my favourite PJs, I walked into my room and looked at my bed. On my bed was the teddy bear I always slept with, the adorable little brown bear holding an "I Love You" heart, a present from my boyfriend on the first Valentine's day we ever shared together. But tonight it wasn't just holding a big red heart, but tucked between that heart and that bear was a ring box, opened and displaying the most beautiful diamond ring I had ever seen! I was so speechless I almost missed my boyfriend walk over to the bed and pick up the ring. He came to me, got down on one knee, and asked me to marry him! Through tears of joy I hastily replied "yes!" before crawling under the covers falling asleep in my new fiancés arms, making it the best Christmas - and still favourite holiday - ever. |
