Hi, please see below for my fantastically surprising proposal from my fiancé!
Mat and I were off on our first vacation together as a couple, along with his parents and two brothers, to Punta Cana. When we arrived Early afternoon none of our rooms were ready so we headed to the buffet for lunch. When we went back to check on our rooms Mat's parents and brothers rooms were ready but not ours. We put our luggage in his parents room where we decided to hang out for the afternoon. Just down the hall our room was still being cleaned. An hour or so later, after having gone for a swim already and a few cerveza's Mat checked our room and it was sadly the wrong room. Two double beds instead of a king bed. We immediately called downstairs to fix this however they said a room with a king bed wasn't available till the next day. That was fine with me but not Mat. Mat went downstairs to see what else he could do, and after quite awhile came back up saying we could have room 2478, Ocean view, top floor, around the corner from the rest of the rooms. Perfect, or so I thought. We then had to wait for it to be cleaned! Around 730 we trying to get ready for dinner but a few of us were missing. I was none the wiser that this was all a ploy to distract me while Mat set up the room. A little later his younger brother came into his parents room where I was and told me that Mat said our room was finally ready! I was excited to see this fantastic room so didn't even haul my luggage with me down the hall. I opened the door and there were rose petals everywhere. My first thought was that room service felt bad for making us wait and so they decorated. And then I saw him... Mat was sitting out on the balcony looking in the window waiting for my entrance. I walked out to meet him and he stood up to get down on one knee and said the magic words I was not expecting. I of course replied with a very obvious YES! |
