My girlfriend and I have been together for almost 4 years, and what a blast it has been. We had talked about getting engaged and where we would like the wedding to take place(down south) but never put together any definitive plans.
Since, I've always gone above and beyond for her every time we celebrated something I knew that my proposal would have to be better then anything I had ever done for her before; especially because I wanted her to have that memory forever! Now before all of the wedding talk came up, she always wanted me to write her a song. So one day while sitting around together, I started playing guitar and came up with one verse of the song. I put off finishing it day after day and every time she heard me start to sing and play it on guitar she got excited and lit up and always bugged me about when i would finish it....I decided that part of the way I would propose would be to finish her song. I wrote the rest of it, composed it on guitar and then went to a friends house to record it. After the recording was finished, I borrowed a friends laptop (so she wouldn't be able to accidently stumble on the planning on our own computers), and I copied a whole bunch of pictures, from our external hard drive and also made a few little video clips and copied them too. I took all these different things and created a video especially for her. On Thursday December 2nd 2010, she was out for the evening. While she was out, I uploaded the video to youtube, and prepared for when she got home. When she finally got home, I sat her down and said I had to show her something. I pressed play on the video, and well the rest is history as they say. She got to watch her proposal while it was being shared on youtube and facebook for all her family and friends to share in the moment at the same time as her. I asked her to marry me and now we're happily engaged, and excited to start the next part of our journey together. |
