My name is Sabrina and my boyfriend proposed to me July 23 2010.
This is how it happened....
We had plans to go camping with a group of friends, but he said he had prior plans that we could not pass up, at last minute he told me the plans fell through but how bout the 2 of us just go camping. I had no idea where we were going with a canoe...I was a little concerned. We loaded the canoe with our camping gear and paddled to an island where we had to portage (unload everything and carry it, and the canoe to another spot, then reload everything) we ended up in a beautiful peaceful lake. We could choose any camping spot we wanted, I spotted one that caught me eye with a gorgeous view of the lake. We set up our site then went sight seeing, came back and he cooked a wonderful "camping dinner" over the fire, penne, my favourite!! that night we sat around the fire talking and listening to music, he then put on "our song"..."You say it best" by Allison Kraus then disappeared for a few minutes, he then called me over...as I walked over to him I could see candles burning...as I got closer I noticed they were lit in the shape of a heart and there was a ring in the middle, I looked over at him with tears in my eyes and he was down on one knee! he took my hand and spilled his heart and asked me to be his wife...I said yes. The rest of the night was filled with romantic words. That weekend was very physically straining due to the portaging, but in the end it was well worth it. |
