My fiance Jon and I have been together for 2 years today, and he's the absolute best thing to come into my life. He and I met 3 years ago through a mutual friend, and he maybe said 2 words to me the whole time. He and I started getting to know each other after I moved to Montreal (we both live in Toronto now), and when I came back to visit for a weekend, we went on a date, and not only did I end up staying an extra week, I also moved back to Toronto 3 weeks later!
Jon proposed to me at Yonge and Dundas Square on November 28th, 2009. We were going to the movie theatre nearby to catch a movie, but we were there very early because I wanted to look at all the Christmas lights that were up. We were standing in front of the giant light-up tree, and he was behind me with his arms around my shoulders, and he asked me if I was happy, and I said that I was. He then reached into his pocket and and brings out a little red velvet box and says "Do you want to be happy with me for the rest of your life?". I burst out laughing because I was so happy! What we didn't know was that the city was doing the ceremonial Christmas tree lighting downtown that night, so not even two minutes after he proposed, fireworks started going off. Honest to goodness fireworks! |
